BMTPA
7/12/2009
Well the 2009 BMTPA pulling season has started. There
have been 12 trucks pumped and safety checked, thanks to everyone for
there help getting this done. It appears that everyone really likes being
check at there home instead of performing the checks at pulling event.
We have had a nice turn out of trucks for the first 2 events. I want to
thank all those who showed up at Xenia and got rained out, that event
has been rescheduled for Oct 17th.
Thanks

BMTPA
Dec 4th, 2008
The annual BMTPA banquet was held at Old Town Buffet in Centerville
Ohio on Nov 30th. The folks at Old Town Buffet did a great job and the
food was excellent and the service was great. Following the meal the BMTPA
annual meeting was held.
Officers were elected, Marvin Epperson will remain President, Gary Davis
remains Vice president and Marshall Foiles was elected Secretary/ Treasurer.
Marvin thanked Carla Davis for her years of service as Secretary/ Treasurer
and Carla received a round of applause from the crowd.
Tech men were elected and it was decided to eliminate the title of Head
Tech man and all tech issues would be decided by the tech men that were
in attendance at that pull.
It was formally announced that the 6500 Modified tractors have decided
to no longer pull with BMTPA. I am sure we will continue to cross paths
with the Mod tractors in future and wish them all, the best of luck
.
Rule changes were discussed and the only real change is to the Hitch qualifications.
(underlined)
1. Hitch point must be clearly visible and painted white, with 9”clearance
from the center of the receiver on either side and 12”clearence above
the receiver. Hitch must be rigid in all directions and solidly mounted
on the truck frame.
2. Drawbar must have steel hitching device, no less than 1" thick,
and must have opening capable of accepting the most current hook, sled
operators are using.
3. No cables or chains used in hitching device.
4. All trucks must be in neutral light on the back of vehicle near the
kill switch.
5. Hitch must remain set hitch height of 30" before, during and after
pull or disqualifications will result.
6. All trucks must have a neutral light on the back of vehicle near the
kill switch.
7. From point of hitch to center of rear axle must be no less than 18"
This change was made due to the new hooks sled operators are required
to use, the physical size and weight of the hook, have made it more difficult
for the hook-up and un-hook people to access the receivers on the trucks.
Insurance costs have gone up and it was decided that the insurance fee
would be raised from $150.00 to $175.00 and annual dues would remain the
same at $25.00. The late fee remains affect.
Tech day was also discussed, it was decided that this year all trucks
will be pumped and measured before attending any pull. No trucks will
be checked at a pull. There are two options to choose from.
1. A tech man can be scheduled to have your truck checked at your home
for a $30.00 fee paid to the tech man. (More that 1 truck can be checked
at you home.)
2. You can schedule your truck to be checked at Tech location. (You bring
your truck to the tech man.)

The 2009 Fair Managers Convention BMTPA booth will be once again manned
and ready to answer all questions from Fair Board members. We have already
received commitments from several fairs and the summer's schedule is filling
quickly. The final schedule will be posted on the website as soon as it
is finalized.
I hope everyone has great Christmas and New Year holiday and I look forward
to seeing everyone next season.
Thanks
