Attention:
The following rules are ONLY for the Truck class.
TECH MAN:
-
The Tech Man/Men decisions are final at the event.
-
Tech Man has the right to determine the legality of the
truck at any time.
-
Tech Man has the right to open the hood or any panel at
any time or make any visual or audible inspection.
-
Tech Man has the right to make all the decisions
regarding these rules.
-
Tech Man need not hold any certification of any kind to
perform any test or many any decision.
-
Adhere to the Tech Man at all times.
-
Tech Man/Men decision is final at the track.
-
Anyone striking the Tech Man or should a problem
of any nature arise, whether caught cheating or someone causing trouble,
he and his truck may be denied participation by a majority vote of
the association for any period of time to be determined by association.
PROTEST PROCEDURE:
-
A protest may be made prior to or following a pull.
-
A fee of $150.00 will be held by the Tech Man until motor is
pumped. If found to be under 500 cubic inch, $125.00 will be awarded to
truck being protested. If truck is over 500 cubic inches, $125.00 will
be returned to protester. The remaining $25.00 will be kept by the
Tech Man.
-
Any motor found over 500 cubic inches in protest will be
considered cheating and will not be permitted to hook for one (1) year and
ten (10) days from that day. This includes truck, driver, and engine.
APPEAL PROCESS:
-
To appeal the Tech Man's decision, the driver/owner must
appeal in writing to the President of the Buckeye Modified 2-Wheel Truck
Pullers Association, Inc. Within five (5) days of disagreement.
-
The President will call a special meeting of the membership
to be held within 10 days if possible after receiving written notice.
The membership will hear both sides of the issue. After discussion,
the membership will take a vote by ballot to uphold or overturn the Tech
Man's decision.
-
The membership may add additional penalty to the Tech Man's
ruling, if they so desire.
KILL SWITCH'S:
-
All trucks must have a working kill switch with a 2"
attachment loop for hooking.
-
The kill switch must be located in the rear center of the
truck. Maximum 12 inches off center.
DRIVESHAFTS u-joint covers:
-
Driveshaft must have 360 degree u-joint covers, on each
u-joint. 6" minimum width thickness 1/4" steel of 1/4" aluminum
-
Driveshaft brake must be covered 360 degree, including
caliper, same specs as driveshaft. Brake must be on pinion and not on
trans.
DRIVESHAFTS LOOPS:
-
Drive shaft loops must be minimum of 3/4" wide and 1/4"
thick aluminum of 1/4" steel.
-
No truck will be permitted to pull with more than 18 inches
between any loops. end loops can not be over 12 inches from u-joint
cover.
TIRES:
-
No bigger than 18.4x16.1
-
No chains, no duals.
EXHAUST:
-
Exhaust must discharge upward.
HARMONIC BALANCERS
-
All balancers will require shielding 360 degrees around
balancer of at least 1/4" steeel full width of balancer.
-
Front will require full cover or straps covering at least
1/2 to prevent forward motion of balancer, and will be securely attached to
motor.
-
Hubs are required to be covered in case of crankshaft
breakage.
500 CUBIC INCH LIMIT
-
Engines shall be N.A. and no larger than 500 cubic inches
(no blowers or turbos).
-
No motor will be pumped over 120 degrees F.
-
Each engine will be pumped before its first hook, before the
pull and randomly tereafter.
-
Three (3) trucks will be drawn from a lottery and pumped at
each pull.
-
Cylinder to be pumped will be chosen by lottery.
-
Truck must be pumped prior to the class starting. at
least 1/2 hour before pull is scheduled to begin.
-
Driver/Owner will insure that cranking speed will be 200
RPM's for cubic inch pumping. Tech Man will not be responsible for
engine pumping incorrectly due to cranking speed.
-
Any motor found to be over 500 cubic inch limit the first
time it is pumped will not be permitted to pull and will be given a chance
to correct the problem.
-
Anyone desiring to have engine pumped before or during
pulling season should contact the Tech Man.
FUEL AND FUEL TESTING
-
Truck may run gasoline, gasohol, or alcohol. No diesel
or propane, or any oxygen carrying substance will be permitted.
-
Fuel will be randomly tested at any given time upon the
request of a tech man. If the trucks fuel does not test correctly, the
driver, truck and engine will be disqualified for the period of one (1) year
and ten (10) days to the date of the incident.
-
Fuel will be drawn from fuel tank of vehicle or fuel pump
inlet.
-
Any fuel testing over specs. Gravity will be illegal
for use (.795)
-
If fuel is in question, have it tested before depositing in
truck tank.
HITCH QUALIFICATIONS
-
Hitch point must be visible and clear for sled hook up.
Tarp must be cut out for hitch.
-
Hitch must be rigid in all directions and solidly mounted on
the truck frame.
-
Drawbar must have steel hitching device, no less than 1"
thick, and must have 3" opening capable of accepting a 3" diameter pipe.
-
No cables or chains used in hitching device.
-
All trucks must be in neutral light on the back of vehicle
near the kill switch.
-
Hitch must remain set hitch height of 30" before, during and
after pull or disqualifications will result.
-
All trucks must have a neutral light on the back of vehicle
near the kill switch.
-
From point of hitch to center of rear axle must be no less
than 18"
TRUCK
-
Truck body style must resemble OEM truck.
-
Bed or bed fenders should cover most part of the rear tires.
-
No T-bucket's car bodies, etc.
GENERAL SAFETY RULES
-
Before any truck, driver or owner may participate in pulling
they must have the vehicle tech inspected and have a tech decal before it
will be permitted to hook. Inspections will cover all engine and
vehicle items listed in this document.
-
Seat belts are required in all trucks and mandatory that
they be worn during pull.
-
Fire extinguishers are mandatory in all trucks.
Extinguishers must be within easy reach of the driver and must be in working
order. (charged)
-
All open bodied vehicles must must have roll cage. all
stock body trucks must have a presentable bed.
-
All pulls will start with a tight chain. No jerking
allowed.
-
No fuel pumps or tanks in driver's compartment.
-
Batteries must be covered and are not permitted in driver's
compartment.
-
All vehicles must be operated in a safe manner, before,
during and after the pull.
-
Any truck judged unsafe by an official will be prohibited
from pulling until unsafe condition is corrected.
-
All truck must have engine side shields, steel or aluminium,
with a minimum of .060 thickness to provide protection from the pan rail to
bottom of head.
-
If truck has a bed that has been cut out, the bed must be
covered.
-
Truck must have working breaks.
-
All vehicles must have wheelie bars that extend beyond back
of tires 2" to front of pad and should not be more than 12" off ground.
-
No vehicle shall exceed 15 feet from center of rear axle to
front most part of truck.
